About
The Short Version
I'm Simbarashe Mutasa, a full-stack developer and computer science graduate based in Harare. I graduated with a first-class Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from the Harare Institute of Technology (2024).
I don't define myself by a single language or framework. I'm a problem solver first — the technology is always secondary to understanding what needs to be built and why. That mindset has taken me across the stack: from React frontends to PostgreSQL schemas, from Python scripts to Docker infrastructure, from REST APIs to CI/CD pipelines.
How I Work
I believe the best software comes from understanding the problem deeply before writing a single line of code. I ask questions. I sketch systems. I prototype fast and iterate. When something doesn't work, I don't blame the tools — I find another way.
Being a generalist isn't about being mediocre at everything. It's about having enough range to see connections that specialists miss, and enough depth to ship production-quality work in any layer of the stack.
Education
Harare Institute of Technology — BTech Computer Science (First Class Honours)
A rigorous program covering algorithms, data structures, systems programming, networking, databases, software engineering, and research methodology. The foundation that makes everything else click.
What I'm Looking For
I'm open to full-time roles, contract work, and interesting collaborations. If you're building something meaningful and need someone who can think across boundaries, let's talk.
